I've been through the desert on a horse with No Name it felt good to get out of the rain
He stood peacefully watching the waterfalls. Standing nearest the smallest of all the waterfalls here at Tripidation Falls, he arched his neck and tucked his chin tight to his chest. It was curious to see such a well formed, aged, and scarred stallion simply staring at the small bubbling trickle of thing water sliding over smoothed stones into the river beneath it. Watching the waves of the water was his favorite part; but that didn't make it any less odd.
He had a strange past, a long, painful history. To him it was a distant mixture of dreams and nightmares. He flicks his cream toned banner across his body, chasing the flies away from himself as he relaxed. Tilted his auds back, closing his eyes, and flaring his nostrils slightly with each breath he felt his head slowly lowering towards the ground from the proud arch.
He had once been a wonderful leader. Gaurdian of a small but proud band of wild mares. There had been Jayla, the bald faced bay, Graylie, the gentle dappled gray, Tarie, the grullo, and Raven, the blue roan. But he'd long since lost the lot of them, and his three offspring to another, younger stallion. Being eight made things slightly harder when faced with two year old, fresh competition.
He shakes himself out before stepping slowly towards the water, dipping his hooves into the shallow, cool liquid. He dipped his muzzle down into the silver liquid. Sipping lightly and lifting his face from the pool, small droplets of water falling from his chin as he looked around sadly. He had scars all over his body from the herd he'd led, defending them, and continuing on with them.

Halo
The small black and white mare wandered slowly, quiet, an overwhelming silence befalling the younger female. She took small, light steps, with the loftiness of the Spanish lifting each hoof into a floating movement, as if a cloud lifted each step into the air before letting it slowly leave an imprint in the soft ground. The falls appealed to her in some unique way. A sense of tranquility seemed to wash over the young horse at the sound of the pounding water.
A sudden burst of energy exploded through her refined body and the lithe bi-colored female sped forward like a bullet, fresh from the muzzle of an automatic shotgun. The iced-over water slowed her momentum and a chill washed through her as the liquid glass formed to her curves. Her muscles shuddered at the touch of the icy water, but she continued to leap and bound straight into the cold wettness.
She emerged from the water, iced from the edge of her hooves to the tips of her pointed ears. The weather was definetly for swimming, but she could care less. She shook her brilliant form, droplets flying from her mane and tail. A deep shiver ran threw her frame as her eyes fell on the sooty stud. His presence bothered her. Had he been watching? She eyed the stallion, unaware of the chill shaking her inside. She edged towards him slowly, suspicious. He looked confident with himself, with a lonliness that reflected in his eyes. Halo watched him for a moment, then nickered softly."You, what could a stud like you possibly be doing here alone?" He couldn't possibly be without a harem. Not a stallion of his stature or looks. She frowned, watching him with dark eyes. He was handsome, of course. But being a curious four year old, Halo knew better than to take a handsome stud for granted. Respect ran deep in her veins. Teardrops of water fell from her forelock, like liquid diamonds as they dripped from the coarse strand. Her body shook with cold once more before she looked toward him, expecting him to speak.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

No Name stood peaceful unto a grandiose splash shattered the peacefulness of the moment. Water lifted into the air from the pool and spread about in a wave of crystaline liquid. He jerked his dial towards the source of the water, startled to find a pied mare standing belly deep in the near-frozen pool. He tilted his auds forward, flaring his nostrils wide and watching her approach him, obviously suspicious of him. Her nickered greeting didn't comfort him. He had been here first and yet she treated him like the intruder.
"You, what could a stud like you possibly be doing here alone?" Her bell-tolls were not enough to erase the pain her felt from knowing she found him suspicious and possibly dangerous. The look she'd given had been enough to suggest that much. He flares his nostrils and shakes himself out, a few droplets sinking into his coat from the splash she had created.
Enjoying the waterfalls, same as you. There is no law stating a stud cannot simply stand and enjoy a peaceful moment. oh dear. Defense in the form of sarcasm spilled from his kissers as he watched the mare a moment longer before offering up his name to the stranger.
I'm known as No Name, though my old friends called me Nameless instead. he didn't see the need to mention his former herd as 'former'. Why let a young sprouting thing know he was getting old? That he'd lost a herd to one as young as herself? If she was as young as she seemed. He wasn't that aged but the difference between his green opponent and himself had been grand enough to hurt him more than his injuries had. she probably won't care, anyway, Name. She'll expect you to be one of those big, dark, dangerous brutes and find her way out of your presence. All the better. It's not like you have a home for her anyway.
